17.  WILLIAM JACK7 WEISERT (WILLIAM JACOB6, GUSTAV ADOLPH5, CAROLINE RUDOLPINA LOUISE4, FRIEDRICH WILHELM3, CHRISTIAN RUDOLPH2, JAKOB MELCHIOR1) was born January 25, 1922 in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California, and died December 08, 1996 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.  He married (1) BETTY JANE WOHLFIEL 1941 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, daughter of EDWARD WOHLFIEL and MABEL THOMPKINS.  She was born August 1924 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He married (2) JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH PALEN June 18, 1954 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, daughter of GEORGE PALEN and KATHERINE UNKNOWN.  She was born October 12, 1927 in Chanute, Neosho County, Kansas.

General George Patton presented William with the Purple Heart, World War II, U.S. Army.

This family lived in Culver City, Los Angeles County, California for many years while he raised his family.  When an opportunity came his way to start his own business in the Dessert of California, Billy made the decision to make the big move.

Billy was a master plumber who helped design and build many hotels, businesses and resorts in the Palm Dessert area of California.  He enjoyed being the “head chef” at cookouts with the family.

William died from a stroke and cardiac arrest.

Billy worked for the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) this was another program founded in the early 1930s to help young men obtain work.

At the age of 74 Betty is still working at the school in the Palm Dessert of California.  She has been awarded at least two plaques for "employee of the year".

Notes for KATHLEEN ANN WEISERT:
Kathy moved from Los Angeles to LaQuinta, California in the year 2001, to live with and help her aging mother. She is currently working at a local school.  When living in Los Angeles, Kathy worked at a hospital and was a crisis counselor. She was sent to many places throughout the country whenever there was a major disaster.  One of the places she was sent to council and help people was Oklahoma after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building.
