The forms and cribbing are down.
After a weekend and an unbelievably rainy day, the house is resting on its
new foundation. The cement forms are gone, as are the shaky-looking pillars of
cribbing that miraculously held everything in place.

Below, you can see they've started chopping up the floor, which will be
entirely new. Note the rough floor joist closest to the camera. My brother,
John, may recall that he and my dad chopped it with an axe, about twenty
six years ago, because it interfered with our old garage door. It worked fine,
John, and it stays just as it is.
