Hiroshima
August 6, 1945--a date which should live in infamy--the United States of America suddenly and deliberately bombed the Empire of Japan in the city of Hiroshima.

While the two countries had been at war for nigh on four years, it was not altogether right for America, a supposedly humane nation, to drop an atomic bomb without warning on Hiroshima. Also, there is the irony between Pearl Harbor, a supposedly dastardly act, and the dropping of the bomb, a supposed good thing.

This website will show the economic, historical, political, present day, and social significances of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

Although it had been said that nothing would grow for 75 years, the oleander plant, above, soon bloomed. It now is the Hiroshima flower, symbolizing a rebirth.
