Albert Sigmund was born in 1819 in Bavaria. He arrived in the United States around 1841 and settled in Baltimore.  He was one of the founding members of the Har Sinai Congregation and is buried in the old Har Sinai Cemetery.  He married Ella Goldschmidt (born 1823). She was the daughter of Meyer Goldschmidt of Grebenstein.  The Sigmunds raised 7 children:

William Sigmund (born ?) married Addie Kaufman.  Worked in his father's fur business.  He died young in ?

Henrietta "Dot" Sigmund (born 1851) married her second cousin, Scholum "Joe" Katzenstein (son of Gerson Katzenstein and Eva Goldschmidt) They moved to Washington, PA. 

Simon Sigmund (born 1853) married Helen ?   He, too, worked in the family business.

Joseph Sigmund (born 1856) married Emma Goldman.  They moved to Denver, Co.  Joseph was in the advertising business.

Leopold Sigmund (born 1858) married Theresa Hirsch. They lived in Baltimore.

Stella Sigmund (born 1860) died young of cancer.

Mollie Sigmund born 1861 in New York where the family lived after escaping Baltimore during the Civil War.  Mollie married Harry Goldman (Emma's brother)

May Sigmund (born 1874) married Gerson Cahn.
