| J.T. STYLE |
| "J.T. Style" (also known as "J.T.-ness" or "J.T.-ish") is a term coined by a friend of mine to describe my fashion sense and overall style. It started as just a joke to say that somebody else wore yellow, but it ended up becoming the only adjective capable of describing me. It eventually came out of every person's mouth who really got to know me, wheter they knew the joke or not. Here's a general sense of what "J.T. Style" conveys: 1. The bouncing walk I take huge strides despite my short legs and bounce up and down to a noticable extent when walking at a decent speed (I level off when I'm slower). It makes walking next to my friend Katie, who also takes long steps, very entertaining as we're trying to talk to each other while our heads are bobbing up and down in opposite directions. We're used to it, though. 2. The comedic effect People know me as the guy to lighten up any situation. I'm particuarly quick-witted and always make people laugh. I'm the guy who keeps saying those little, candid quips that everybody remembers. I have the body language to go with it, some natural, some manufactured. My goofy, somewhat awkward looking motions make people laugh as it is, and anybody who knows my name knows "the eyebrow thing," which is nothing more but me raising my right eyebrow, but I can twist it to portray any expression with ease. 3. The coping factor People turn to me when they need someone to vent to because I have an uncanny ability to listen and talk at the same time, hearing what they're saying while giving a solution and telling an (appropriate) joke to keep the mood light. There are very few of my friends who have not received a O.G.T.F.B.H. (Official J.T. Vandenbree Get-The-Fuck-Better Hug) when they were upset about something, large or small. I sometimes feel that I can't be happy unless my friends are happy, so I do my best to keep the happiness going around me. 4. The "Aura" Like J.T. Style as a whole, people describe me by saying I have an "Aura" (some specify it as an Aura of Yellowness). I am told rooms light up with my presence, I'm sure from a combination of my glowing white skin and my energetic personality. People tell me that I make them feel at ease, and my laid-back-yet-chronically-hyper nature relaxes and entertains at the same time. I guess this interchanges with the coping factor somewhat, just one is a part of me that comes out naturally and the other is me doing what I do best when it's needed most. 5. The Fashion Accessories The shades, the hats, the watches, the chains- these encompass J.T.'s Fashion Accessories. Now, I only have one of each of the last two, but I am the prowd owner of about five pairs of sunglasses and bordering ten hats, all of various styles and colors that I switch to match the outfit (more or less). For some of my friends, my "Fashion Accessories" are a source of great entertainment, for other, they don't care. That's why this is last on the list. :-P |
