| Have you ever wondered what would happen if you took five of the biggest goofballs in the high school and formed them into a boy band? Well, here's the answer to that question: MW*Sync. THE MEMBERS: Ian "The Rebel" Malowitz John "The Big Brother" Poka Mike "The Heartthob" Dapiro J.T. "The Baby" Vandenbree Matt "The Shy One" Angrisani It started at one fateful cast party at my house after a fantastic performance of the Wizard of Oz. Somebody had the idea, and before we knew it I was standing with four other guys in my bedroom with the door locked, trying to learn the dance to Bye Bye Bye. An hour and a half later, we performed to both Bye Bye Bye and Apache, and had our fellow cast members in stitches (after they finished screaming something about having our children, that is). A few months later, we had our annual Drama Club Dinner, where everybody got together at a nice place, ate, talked about the past year and the year to come, and then got our groove on down on the dance floor. Now, naturally, the four of us (since our poor Big Brother Pokanuts died in a heroin, crack, LSD, ecstacy, and alcohol overdose-related car crash) couldn't let this perfect opportunity go to waste, so we had a repeat performance to Bye Bye Bye. We didn't just dance though, oh no. We made ourselves matching MW*Sync t-shirts which we wore under our dress shirts. At the beginning of the song (since nobody expected us), we came swaggering out onto the floor, cleared ourselves some space, and... well, started stripping. The result- pandemonium, and a lot of laughing. We did our thing, and everything was great. A few weeks later school let out, and Ian, John, and Mike graduated. Everyone assumed that MW*Sync was gone forever. Assumed incorrectly, might I add... The next year, I secretly arranged for both Ian and Mike to come to my cast party for the fall drama production. In the middle of the party, when nobody expected, my DJ, Josh, stopped everything and gave us a mock (not to mentioned completely vague) introduction. In the confusion, the four of us came stomping the the back door, bandanas and t-shirts in all. The third and final showing of MW*Sync was a huge success, with all the newcombers completely enamored with us and the old fans reignited with a passion. Thusly, MW*Sync retired at the top of its game. THE WEBSITE Since we had a ton of pictures of our... ahem, exploits, and so many fans to share them with, the Rebel went out and learned HTML programming for the sole purpose of creating an MW*Synce website. It has all of the pictures we have from our first two concerts, and more coming from the third. Check the URL on the Links page. |
