| Out of Kurapika’s four friends, I can say Leorio is the closest person to Kurapika. Leorio looks like he’s in his thirties, but in the manga, he said: “Hey! I’m not old, I’m in the same generation as you guys!” And on most of the websites, they all say he’s only 19. (It’s hard to believe, but believe it, or I’ll paralyze you. Tee-hee…) According to Leorio, he wants to be a hunter because he wants money, and money is everything to him, but Kurapika can see that money is not everything to Leorio, so he asks Leorio. “Kurapika: Leorio, although you’ve always said that you wants to be a hunter for money, a person who only wants money will not go this far and risks his life for just money, is money your true reason to be a hunter?” Although Leorio claimed that money is the only reason, but then he told Kurapika that because they didn’t have any money to send his best friend to the hospital, so his best friend died. So he is willing to be a doctor but he needs money. Leorio didn’t say more, he doesn’t like to show his feelings. “Leorio: money money money!” “Kurapika: *smiles*” Though in the beginning, Kurapika was disgusted about how Leorio can care about money so much, but then he realizes that Leorio needs money to do good things. He is that kind of person who is willing to donate a lot money to charities and open a hospital for poor people for free. Although he and Kurapika argues a lot and Kurapika is sarcastic to Leorio in almost every conversation they have, Kurapika understands how Leorio really feels and that he has a very good heart. “Leorio: Wow, you sure change a lot when we separated after the hunter exam.” “Kurapika: *acting cool* But you sure didn’t change your clumsy ways even a little bit, Leorio.” Although in the manga, there aren’t many scenes where show that Kurapika cares for Leorio, one thing for sure is that they form a great team in a battle, like when they kidnap Kuroro. And another thing for sure is that Kurapika understands Leorio, a lot. But Leorio certainly shows his concerns for Kurapika, don’t get excited, yaoi fans, it’s just a concern that you have for your best friend, and it’s kinda like a sibling like bound. When Kurapika left York Shin with Senritsu, Leorio told Senritsu to look after Kurapika. Leorio always tells Kurapika to stay calm during the process of kidnapping Kuroro. “Leorio: Your melody is the best I’ve heard, and it’s really soothing, Kurapika is a short-tempered person, but he will listen to you, please look after him.” That’s really touching, *sniff* but it’s really just friendship. |
