PIN PLACEMENT
· Need reasonable pin locations – some are close to illegal · Staff needs a lesson on pin placements · Pin Placement – Surely someone can educate the staff on where to place the pins, instead of placing them in ridiculous spots TEE BOXES · Area to the right of #1 tee box (LH) needs to be filled in · Level tees · Often unlevel and bare · Level the tee boxes. For some reason this seems to be an insurmountable task. It might be easier to combine the leveling process with tee box enlargement where possible. That is, combine the black and gold tee boxes into 1 larger area instead of 2 smaller ones. Then have 1 very large blue tee area since it receives the most play. · Tee markers placed wider apart might prevent “crowning” as has occurred on most tee boxes · Reduce the # of tee boxes and flatten tee boxes · Need to be leveled · Many t-boxes badly need to be leveled · Is it possible to make the tee boxes more level · Tee boxes for the most part are not level at all · Tee boxes @ both courses are neglected. · On WW #11 and #18 move tee box up so 2nd shot can clear the creek after a 200 yard tee shot · Tee boxes need to be larger (longer) · Practice tee area at WW is slanting – needs to be level and better utilized · Why are some tee boxes hardly ever used for the men? · Many tees are not level · Many tee boxes should be leveled · Tees at LH should be redone. Continuous tees instead of small rounded tees. · Level tee boxes would be good · Tee boxes are poor at both courses · Most of the tee boxes are so uneven or dipped in the middle that we joke about them · Want ladies t-box back on WW hole#5 · Whoever sets the tee box markers as well as pin placement does a poor job · Tee markers moved forward and back in the middle. It would be advantageous for them to be moved on the sides of the tee boxes. That way you don’t create such a large crown from sanding the divots · Tee box area should be in the shape of a rectangle. Therefore the who areas other than the center could and should be used FAIRWAYS · Fairway grass is cut too short for winter · Fairways are mowed too frequently and MUCH too short in the summertime · Fairways could be “blade” aerated and watered to improve growth · Fairways are cut too short · The decent ratings (on the survey) for fairways and greens are due partly to the efforts of volunteers · Too little turf during winter · Fairways mowed too short · Keep fairways mowed too short · Mowers set too lowPRACTICE AREAS · Need to teach members how to use driving range so turf is not dug up all over the place · Sand on driving range is bad. Need to use dirt! It will be a large sand trap soon · Expand driving range teeing area · Replace balls sooner · No turf on driving range tees (LH) · Putting green too worn down (LH) · The practice of free golf balls has brought people out of the wood work that never used the range before. Thus the range area is becoming over used and at Legacy you are hitting out of sand · Increase range price for non-residents to $10 · I like free driving range and hope it increases number of golfers and rounds of golf · Astroturf is needed badly on both driving ranges. These areas cannot withstand 400 players pounding the ground daily · Free range balls great add on – Thank You · On the driving range hitting area has turned into a desert (no grass). I know about the drought and cold weather but the “free” balls has really put a strain on the hitting areas too · Have you considered hitting mats (?) during the winter. Don’t get me wrong – I enjoy the free practice balls but is this a drain on the operation of the course? · I’d like to see improvement in the chipping practice green. Enlarge, maintain better, relocate if necessary to have a decent short game practice area at LH. · I really like having the range balls available on the practice tees and wouldn’t mind paying a little higher fee if necessary to cover it. |
