PRACTICE AREAS
· Need to teach members how to use driving range so turf is not dug up all over the place
· Sand on driving range is bad.  Need to use dirt!  It will be a large sand trap soon
· Expand driving range teeing area
· Replace balls sooner
· No turf on driving range tees (LH)
· Putting green too worn down (LH)
· The practice of free golf balls has brought people out of the wood work that never used the range before.  Thus the range area is becoming over used and at Legacy you are hitting out of sand

· Increase range price for non-residents to $10
· I like free driving range and hope it increases number of golfers and rounds of golf
· Astroturf is needed badly on both driving ranges.  These areas cannot withstand 400 players pounding the ground daily
· Free range balls great add on – Thank You
· On the driving range hitting area has turned into a desert (no grass).  I know about the drought and cold weather but the “free” balls has really put a strain on the hitting areas too
· Have you considered hitting mats (?) during the winter.  Don’t get me wrong – I enjoy the free practice balls but is this a drain on the operation of the course?
· I’d like to see improvement in the chipping practice green.  Enlarge, maintain better, relocate if necessary to have a decent short game practice area at LH.
· I really like having the range balls available on the practice tees and wouldn’t mind paying a little higher fee if necessary to cover it.

COURSE CONDITION

· Our courses are in poor condition compared to every other course that my group plays.  The over watering of greens, sand traps and fairways is just frustrating to people who play golf.
· On balance, these courses are prime!
· I believe both courses are excellent and we are lucky to live here
· I want these courses to be nice again – a place to be proud to have guests come and playl
· I feel our golf courses should be developed and maintained to a ‘resort course” level.  One of our courses needs to be “user friendly” for the older, less-mobile players to include easy, level access to tee boxes, greens and sand traps.
· Give me smooth greens, level tees and mowed fairways and I’m a happy camper
· Both courses are well maintained
· :Present manager of maintenance lost all LH greens and most fairways in spring of 1997.  What grew back seems to be common Bermuda.  Developer owes us the quality of grass originally installed.
· Legacy Hills is now (this winter) so much worse but White Wing shows a deterioration that is scary
· I have lived here for seven years and each year I have noticed a decline in the quality of the courses. The shape of the courses this year is the worst ever.  Greens at Legacy Hills are unputtable, the fairways and rough at Legacy Hills are terrible – tee boxes are a disgrace.
· Replace cedar tree on WW #16 in order to tighten the approach to the green
· Reinstall the sand trap on WW #18 right hand fairway
· Eliminate some of the flower areas – where balls are lost.  This slows play
· Flower beds should be restored to original conditions rather than let them go to grass
· Trim cart path trees so that they don’t drag on golf carts
· The courses are both hard enough for seniors.  We are not trying to qualify for the senior tour.
· The two courses have plenty of challenge and are usually in great shape.
· For as much money that is spent on golf course management, both golf courses should be in much better condition.  I play various local courses so I can speak with some authority
· We have one of the best maintained golf course(s) in Central Texas
· Superintendent is not doing a reasonable job
· The aesthetics of both courses has steadily decreased in the four years I have played here
· Overall appearance and maintenance for the dollars spent is not up to par

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
· Keep drainage from neighborhoods off the course
· Continue to fix “holes” around greens that contain sprinkler heads, etc.
· Tee and green watering should be done at night – not in late AM
· Continue to give each course one full day off every week for major maintenance and rest
· Schedule 4 to 6 major maintenance tasks for each winter
· Rough should be cut a little shorter
· Reduce number of employees on course maintenance and see that they are more productive (4 guys trimming 1 tree?  3 watching and 1 working??)
· Clean up the rough at White Wing
· Better golf maintenance including the weeks in the flower beds and rough
· Bathrooms on course are worn – need refurbishing.  Need working heaters – never operating in cold weather
· Sprinkler heads by greens drown the greenside bunkers
· Course maintenance stinks.  Greens poor, very bad @ Legacy
· Should never use ½” plugs especially before over seeding
