FEES - Continued
·
Suggest giving 10 punches free to new home owners to Sun City
· Reduce fee for residents and non-residents
· Everyone should pay the same golfing fee
· Try to hold member fees level
· Golf value @ SCT is not competitive especially considering cost of courses being offset by housing sales
· I would not object to higher fees if course is maintained to higher standards (CC level) and residents were given tee time priorities over non-residents.
· Why is the annual pass at Sun City Grand only $1100/year
· Would favor higher annual to go private
· The annual golf pass for a couple is comparable to the total annual dues at a Country Club.  The golf pass is paid upfront whereas the dues to a club are paid on a monthly basis.  It appears as though the residents of Sun City are helping to underwrite the care of a public golf course without a great deal of advantage.  We did not come here for a country club (we have done that), but we sure didn’t expect to be paying as much for a public golf course as we have paid at a country club with two courses.
· I advocate a “golf membership” – not based on # of rounds played
· Reduce the number of rounds played by annual pass holders or eliminate the unlimited amount of rounds/annual pass.  They tie up the course (RECORDED TWICE BY SAME MEMBER#)
· Daily fee and/or punch card (Reduced Rate) should work well for all (RECORDED TWICE BY SAME MEMBER#)
· The rate increases suggested were fair for self supported courses

COST OF MAINTENANCE
· Cutting maintenance expenses and “frills” will provide stable fees.
· It is recently reported SCT spends 90M per hole on maintenance.  If true, management has failed to do its job.  It is reported Terra Vista spends 51M per hole.  The expenses numbers on our two golf courses just don’t add up.  The private club I was of member of prior to moving to SCT had 12 full time and six to eight part time per 18 hole course.
· I think that good maintenance could be done at a lower cost
· Cost of golf operations must be reduced.  Labor costs can and must be reduced.  Unnecessary mowing operations should be stopped.
· The cost can be reduced
· We need to look at cost in comparison to other local courses
· Cost of course maintenance is out of hand and can be reduced with proper management – also knowledgable management
· Our costs should be in line with TerraVista, Star Ranch, etc.  Do not use Austin Muny courses as a cost example as they are goat ranches
· We do not balance manpower with workload
· A quality golf course is my first priority.  I certainly don’t want to see costs cut to the detriment of the courses (as already seems apparent) so that a few can play cheap multiple rounds

PACE OF PLAY
· The “improved” pace of play is great
· Where is pace of play as a priority
· Reduce play time for 18 holes to 4 hours or less
· Could be under 4 hours
· The slow pace of play is a major concern of mine and other golfers.  It would be my 2nd highest priority next to reducing operational costs
· We need to take stronger action against slow play
· The new process of keeping foursomes on time seems to be working well
· I believe that moving the blue tees up on all holes will also speed up play.  Example #2 on Legacy when the tee is back, lots of drives end in the water hazard and another ball must be hit from the drop zone – again over the hazard
· Thanks a lot for seeing to a reasonable pace of play
· Keep up the excellent improvement in the pace of play (most days)
· The cart paths were built for slow play as you do not have the green to the back of the green – going to the next tee
· Pace of play is important and should be pointed out to those who are always slow.  Help them understand how to change and speed up.  Advise outsiders!  We often see them tee off from back tee only to miss the shot
· Problem is adherence to pace of play
· To increase pace of play on WW widen the fairways and take out the trees in the middle of the fairways.  How many pro tournaments have you seen on TV with a course laid out like WW?
· Make it a local rule that drop zones on WW #11 and 18 and LH #2 and 17 are across the creeks in order to speed up play
