| Vancouver Inner City Project Summer 1999 |
| During the summer of 1999, I spent 2 months together with 19 other students (Americans, Canadians & one Irish) learning the ways of Vancouver's poorest neighbourhoods. It was an intense, non-stop stint of experiencing God's compassion, love, and heart for this city's most disadvantaged. We were Jesus' hands and feet as we served, played, taught and worked with the many kids and adults of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, the 'hidden ghettos' and Main & Hastings. Thank you to all our new friends and fellow labourers who taught me all about God's grace & power. I will never look at my hometown the same way. Check out my article! |
