Pickles and Crew's Poetry and Prose

This introduction is pretty long because it holds many of my personal views. Don't worry, the good stuff is coming up soon. :-) You can skip down to the table if you would rather, though.

Most of our writings deal with our lives as a multiple system and how I, the body, became a multiple. As such, some of them are pretty intense. (Sorry :-( ) I have tried to portray reality without being too gruesome but sometimes reality is very harsh. The reason I place our writings here is to show people that multiples are real people with the same hopes, fears, dreams, desires, and feelings as other people.

Please do not feel badly if you do not understand, or accept, multiplicity. Shoot, it is hard enough for multiples themselves to understand and accept the fact that it exists, let alone their own diagnosis. It is hard for persons in the real world to understand what a multiple really experiences because of media dramatization of the disability. It is, I am also sorry to say, hard for professionals to treat a person the same, once the multiplicity is revealed.

This portion of our page primarily hosts personal things. However, it also boasts of neat, positive and fun things to enjoy. After all, life as a multiple is not that bad so please take a little time and visit all the sections of our.

Actually, I look at my multiplicity as a gift. Heck, it kept me alive as a child. This section is only to let you get to know how this particular disability works and affects the person and their family and friends.

I think one of the reasons multiplicity is so hard to accept is because 90% of multiples develop their disability from child abuse, especially child sexual abuse. This then would mean that in order for society to accept the disorder it would have to accept the prevelance of abuse. When abuse ends, multiplicity will end. Hopefully the information on these pages will help you realize just how devastating child abuse is.

Well, enough of my soapbox huh? :-) Please make sure you are in a safe place when you read what is here. Bring along a stuffie, a blankie, a beverage, whatever makes you comfortable. We have marked these pages with a trigger warning. If you see the warning and choose not to continue reading we totally understand. Please come back when you are feeling stronger. We promise our writings are well worth the effort it takes to read them.

My WebRings that deal with multiplicity and survivorship are listed after this table which will lead to each individual page in this section. Each page is also linked to the next one so that our progressive story is revealed.
