Standing rigging, winches, sails and spars | |||||||||||||||||||
Rigging & Spars: Zinga is ketch rigged with two deck stepped alloy masts and booms. The standing rigging is stainless steel; all the cables on the mizzen mast were replaced in 2006. The rigging of the main mast remains original. In addition to the lower shrouds the main mast is also held by an inner forestay. The runing rigging is mostly polyester and is in fair condition. There is no spinnaker pole. The genoa is roller furling on a Profurl unit (new 2006). A spare electric roller furling unit is also stored on board. Both booms are fitted with mechanical boom wangs |

Winches and other: The main mast is fitted with four halyard winches on port and starboard, while the mizzen mast has only two. Cockpit winches include two large self tailing genoa sheet winches and two samller all usage winches. Genoa sheets are guided through pulleys on deck rails. Two flat deck laid pulleys are fitted near the cocpit as returns for the spinnaker sheets. |
