I have a serious side. In this space I will try and show it to you. I know so many people I talk to in the chat rooms are lonely. To be alone is one of the most difficult things in the world. One can only keep their faith intact and work on loving other human beings. It may be trite to say there is someone out there who loves you but, it is true.

So many times we have lost someone because of some small disagreement. I want you to consider how much has gone wrong in the world. I also want you to consider what is right. Reading can be your best friend when times are tough. Grab the book "To Kill A Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee. This book is perfect and will be a great friend to you for life.

I am also deeply affected by good art. I want to share a painting that has always meant so much to me. The subject knows what is like to be lonely. It's called Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth. While you are on the Internet look it up. The artist and the subject may put things into perspective for you. Until next time, enjoy life and know you have value.

My thoughts today might wonder a bit. The second anniversary of 9/11 has just past. I hear so many of friends talk about it and the world in general. Many people my age fret and wring their hands over the state of things. I tell them to get involved in politics. I tell my tree hugger friends humans were given intelligence to survive. We have no fur or sharp claws. Humans are able to fabricate machines of a miraculous nature but, we are also able to foist unimaginable evil upon each other. We should not worry about if it is okay to eat meat or wear fur, because it is. Anyway we have so much time to be grown-up, let us be like children sometime during the day. As is my habit, I include a painting I really care for. This time it is "Sea Shade" by Dali. Of this painting he says he would imagine he was a little girl. What is being a little girl? The fun of wearing a light sun dress? Having mommy fix our hair just right? Skiping down the street for no reason? Being a litlle girl is fun. We can coo over puppies and teddy bears. Wear ribbons and bows but, we get to grow up first and deal with many adult problems boys never think about. We get to sit in the passenger seats of our own cars. We have to take care of boys and their kids and we better cook as good as his mom and fuck like a mink whenever he's ready. Then they wonder why we get the giggles. It's not to fun being a grown-up, they should try it. I am not a man hater, I just wish they would stop and think we need to be kids sometimes too.

I would like to talk today about those special moments that slip away from us everyday. There are many defining moments in our life. The first real dance or kiss. Sometimes it is a special sunset that looks just right. Young love in it's early stages. All of these events are special. Everyday, almost every moment there is a chance to convey our love to other people. Many times this happens without a word. Do you open doors for people? Do you say "thank you" or "your welcome" to everybody. Some moments should never slip away but, they do everyday. One thing I am always fond of saying is, "You can never do anything the first time twice." I am saying keep yourself ready to capture these moments when they happen. Even if these moments occur over a second or two, the are still special and they add up. I hope that you all treasure your special moments. My art selections today include three pieces of art by Gilles Sacksick. "Nathalie's Gaze", "Nathalie Sitting On Alcove Wall", and "Portrait Of Back". It must be a wonderful thing to capture these moments on paper or canvas. The rest of us can keep them in our memory.

Fall is quickly approaching. Part of living in Illinois is getting to live through the four seasons. I have been told by many people that life is like the seasons. It is not hard to accept this notion. Spring is like re-birth and youth. Summer is always fun and much like being a teen-ager. Fall is time to gather our harvest and winter is time to be a grown up. Life isn't the only thing one can compare to the seasons. Relationships go through "seasons". I won't belabor this much longer... I just want to say no matter what life throws us, if we are able to detach and see the reasons and evitable stages, everything will make more sense. "You can't hurry love." says the line of a great song. It is wise to realize nothing worth having is easy and good things take time. Make sure you stand back a little so you can see all the pieces of that jig saw puzzle of life and don't just jam it together. The art I would like to share this time is "The Seasons" by Alfonso Marie Mucha.

How important is love?  Simply put, it is our life force.  Love can make us cry or laugh.  Without it we are lost.  What is love?  So many people have tried to define it.  We love our families, our mates, or pets.  Love is a complex and hard thing to define.  The art I have used this time to define my thoughts are by Pierre-Auguste Cot.  Notice the couples are on equal footing in both of these pictures.  If one is in love, one shares weakness and strength.  Love isn't easy to maintain or find.  Nothing worth having is.
