The Creator
Akira Toriyama, thank you so much for providing a world in which we can completely lose ourselves for endless periods of time. Many people don't tend to thank the man himself but I guess I will anyway. You only have to look around the net nowadays to see the impact of Dragonball upon many people and the appreciation of his work.
The Companies
FUNimation, for creating some pretty good DVDs and leaving them uncut. They have made the effort despite the complaints of many people. I like the DVDs, they are making DBGT and DB and they are trying to buy the rights to movies 7-13. All good things in my opinion.
Toei, for allowing Toriyama to create his masterpiece in Anime format and for the production of Battle royale, quickly becoming one of my favorite films. A very respectable company along the lines of Clamp and Studio Ghibli.
Bird Studios and Shonen Jump, for publishing Dragonball and making it accessable for people. I don't know much about these companies except they keep Dragonball alive in its native Japan.
Viz Communications, for producing the best Graphic Novels in the world complete in their Japanese and unedited formats. They took the fans advice and are one of the few companies who actually listen to the words of their customers. Thanks.
United Publications, for making Anime accessable to the UK for fantastic prices. I highly recommend them!! One of my favorite stores and plugged continually by myself. All with good merit. Check them out!
Web Sites
Planet Namek, the mecca for Dragonball Z fans and for graciously allowing visitors the chance to use their material on their own sites after they bowed out in infamy. I've been a fan of the site since I first found it a few years ago. Its a sad loss and they aren't easily replaced. Anyway all the summaries on this site are currently from Planet Namek. I haven't done my own yet. Credit where credit is due.
Ginga Giri Giri, for not producing the same old crap. Great work, humor and media. Some of the best music videos I have ever seen are available on this site. They need our support after the excessive consumption of bandwidth on their server. Well worth checking out and enjoying the insanity.
Future Foretold, for publishing so much stuff on my favorite character. They have changed format know to a Anime site, still good but as Violet Angel they aren't quite as good for Dragonball or Mirai Trunks. Still worth a look though for lots of innovative ideas and great sections.
Dragonball Z, the official site for providing bios, summaries and more. Free Flash Cards, Free Desktops, Free Screen Savers, Chat, Episode Guides, Pictures. A great Flash Site well put together. Not as indepth as many others but High Quality none the less.
Gojiita's Domain, I only found this the other day and I loved every minute of it. They have some great images, manga, daizenshuu scans (which may soon appear on here - hence the credit). Interesting and informative. Nice people with a great site.
