Free Women of Tyros

Being a Free Woman of Gor is no easy task. However after reading this it is hoped that you will understand what it takes to keep your freedom.

If You have searched on the topic of Free Women you know there is very little information out there. The reason for this is Free Women for the most part did not travel among Free Men. They stayed in there shops or dwellings with there familys, or in there pleasure gardens which were always behind large walls with gaurds. This was of course the Wealthy Women. If they did leave the safety of their homes, they were usually heavily gaurded and Always wearing Veils and robes (more on this later). Peasents and lower caste Free Women, were more likely to be traversing the City shopping for their Familys, or selling wares in designated places, they too wore the robes and veils of Free Women. Their role in Gorean society is to care for the households, birth and raise gorean children, as well as other labors that would aid there familys or Free Companions. Those that were Succesful at remaining a Free Woman, were the essence of what a Lady is. Filled with Virtue, Grace, Proud to be the Free Women they were, Always knowing that it is by their Men that this was so.

Gorean Women rarely travelled out of there home City.
There is a saying on Gor that the laws of a City extend no further than its walls.

Even with Many Guards it was rare, they knew the dangers outside the walls of thier City. A Free Woman is proud of her freedom and will guard it, taking all and any precations to remain free. They did NOT travel to paga taverns or other rowdy places. To do so invites face stripping and a collar!!

It is because there are Paga Taverns that Women are free. They go there to get rowdy, do Man things, and play with the local slaves. They might do other things but I've never been to one so don't know. There have been a few known women who visited such places, they were heavily guarded and usually were there for business purposes. Those that were smart behaved above reproach and left with their veils intact. However those that did not behave properly soon became enslaved. If you wish to go out and have some ka-la-na, go to shops and cafes that are in a good part of the City as well as those that are for both Free Men and Women.

Gorean Women faced with enslavement would most often choose a honorable free death, rather then becoming a slave. The honour of these women are in essence tales told over ka-la-na years and years later. These women lived and died free. Proving the old Gorean belief that not all women were born to be slaves.

Now you know some about Free Women. How do you keep this freedom? The following will explain ways to keep from being enslaved.

1.)

Behave in a Virtous and Lady like Manner. Always, no matter what your mood.

2.)

Wear your Veils, robes, calf hugging boots and gloves.
Never use these items in a flirtatous manner in public even with your soon to be Free Companion.
Or it may be thought you secretly desire to be a slave.

3.)
Just because you see another Free Woman behave in a unlady like way. Does not mean it's okay for you to behave that way too.

4.)
Don't publically fondle or do sexual related things with slaves. take it to your Cylinder!

5.)
Know the drinks and foods of our wonderful Gor, You may on occasions be serving the Men. Yes FreeWomen do serve Our Men but we do it in a gracious and non sensual manner.

6.)
Never butt into Men's business. Unless you have been asked your thoughts, keep out of it.
You may politely ask if you could say something. If the answer is no, leave it at that and be kind.

7.)
NEVER display any actions or words that are sexual. I can not stress this enough. I've seen Free Women do shocking things. Needless to say they were not free for long.
The Goreans Belive any woman who shows sensual desires and displays these openly, like a slave does. Deserves to be collared and eventually this will happen!!
Gorean Men hold Free Women of His homestone in High regard, treasuring, respecting and protectiong Us. We are their Mothers, Sisters, Daughters and Free Companions.
As long as We show Ourselves to Be True Free Women. Our place in Our City is secure. But They will not hesitate in reprimanding or collaring a Woman who behaves in a slave like manner. Rightly so!!

Never travel alone, take guards or guard sleens with you. It is best not to leave your City. If you do never alone. Make friends with the Men of Our City.

About Your words before saying them, get to know who your around and learn what is expected of you.
Some Men like Free Women who behave one way and Others like Free Women who behave in other ways. Learn these things. I am by no means saying to be whatever the Person your with wants.
