Healing

There is always a medical bag kept at the medical station near the center of the , this is for the use of any kajirae that finds need. One can also be found within Tyros. In the kajirae healing bag one will always find:

Tweezers	Cauterizing irons	Pliers	Needles for suturing (New Needles Not Old Rusty ones)
Spools of gut	Clean soft repcloths	Silken bandages	Kanda leaves
Kanda salve	Agrimony	Green herbal antiseptic powder	Valerian powder
Valerian salve	Aloe	Peppermint oil	Bota of fresh water

When performing a medical serve be very descriptive. Take care of minor things yourself if you can. If its something more than you are trained to deal with, or you have any doubt about proceedures, stop the bleeding if you can, cleanse the wound, cover the injury and call for a Healer.

There is always a bota of paga not fit for drinking but perfect for the cleansing of wounds with the medical bag, along with it you will find clean rep cloths, clean bandages, and extra items to restock the med bag.

Goreans are rarely ill and heal quickly. The most severe of wounds heal within three days. Tendons generally take two days to mend, bruising and scratches one day. All stitches should be removed after three days.

First assist the injured to a chair or fur. If not sure of the wounds ask. Be sure to treat the most wounds in order of serverity from worst to most minor.

Offer a kanda leaf
*NOTE* Kanda is to be chewwed on NOT swallowed as swallowing kanda is toxic.

Add the green herbal powder to the paga and use it to cleanse the wound.

Using kanda salve numbs the edges of the wound.

Carefully check the wounds for any debris using the tweezers to extract it.

Ask a Free for help removing any weapons remaining in the wound.
*REMEMBER* A slave may not touch a weapon under penalty of death.

Use pressure to stop the bleeding
*NOTE* if the wound affects any blood vessel call a healer.

If needed use the cauterizing iron to stop any actively bleeding wounds when no Helaer can come immediately.

Suture deep wounds and tendons closed using Mattress stitches.

Suture surface wounds using herring bone stitches.

Sprinkle with antisceptic podwer and coat with agrimony. dab the stitches with aloe to keep them from pulling.

Cover the wound with a soft clean rep cloth and bandage it into place.

Surface wounds simply rinse with paga, sprinkle with antisceptic powder, cover in agrimony leaving it open to the air.

For bruising apply ice there will always be plenty in the servery.

Broken bones must be set back into place, splinted and bandaged tightly.

For any injuries, poisonings, or illnesses of a more severe nature call a full Healer immediately.

Its with hopes that the training kajirae and kajirus alike will rarely, if ever, need but it is better to know and not need it than to be without one to help in need.
