Versatile Job in Top 2 at Superstar
Job Kurien, son of Ym.Kurien Job is in the Top 2 at Amrita TV Superstar Contest 2006 in Trivandrum. Seen in the short clip is Job performing a duet with Mridula, who later fell out of the competition. The other singer in the final two is Sangeeth. Job, a BTech graduate, has a very good chance and has already been acclaimed a very versatile singer. Congratulations, Job!
Job had, during his college days in Hassan, organised a cultural evening in Karnataka to help fund-raise for the welfare of Tsunami victims.
The Kuriens have been in the club since Job was a young boy. This greatly helped Job to cut his teeth as a singer, singing at the monthly club meetings. The club is very proud of Job's achievements and wish him the very best.

Job Kurien Runner-Up at Amrita Superstar Contest!

19 Nov 2006: At the grand finale in Thiruvananthapuram tonight, Mr. Job Kurien was elected Runner Up by viewers world over. Job Kurien is the son of Ym. Kurien Job, our long-serving club member.
The Club and all members are very proud of this great achievement. Well done, Job!
The immediate prize for the award is a trendy bike, but the long term rewards to Job will be many. At least a couple of music directors have already declared that Job will sing in their next creations. Our best wishes, Job, for a long, highly successful and satisfying career in music!
Sangeeth was elected winner at the neck-to-neck competition whose deadline was extended twice. A final year student at the Music College in Thiruvananthapuram, Sangeeth was cheerfully greeted as noted filmstar Dileep read out the results to the huge crowd that had gathered at the Senate Hall. Sangeeth gets a brand new car as reward. Hearty Congratulations, Sangeeth!
Job, an engineer by education, has had no formal training in music. His parents, Mr. Kurien Job and Mrs. Rosamma Kurien, and his music teacher, Mr. Surendran, who trained Job since childhood deserve full credit for nurturing the musician in the young boy. The Y's Men's Club of Vattiyoorkavu also played its part by providing Job the encouragement and the platform to cut his teeth as a singer. The club continues to encourage young talent.
