Drowning Pool first came into the music scene in summer 2001. The first single off of their debut album "Sinner" was "Bodies." The song was very big. It topped many rock & metal charts. The Dallas, Texas foursome played on Ozzys' metal tour Ozz-Fest. This was around the time when "Bodies" was released. "Bodies'" choares repeats "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" which mainly discribes a mosh pit. Around Christmas that year Drowning Pool released "Sinner." This song was big, but not compared to "Bodies." In spring they released "Tear Away." "Tear Away" was on a WWF soundtrack. In summer 2002 Drowning Pool were on the Ozz-Fest tour for a second year. On August 14 lead singer Dave Williams was found dead in the tour bus. The cause of death was unkowen for about amonth and a half when it was discovred it was natural causes, and heart problems. Click here for a bio on Dave Williams and the complete story. Drowning Pool took part on Ozz-Fest's main stage with System Of A Down, Tool, the legendary Slayer, Adema, P.O.D, and of course Ozzy. The second stage featured Hatebreed, Down, Flaw, Andrew W.K, The Apex Theory, Chevelle, Mushroom Head, and Soil. Drowning Pool 's cover of Mettalica's "Creeping Death" is on the live@Ozz-Fest CD. The heavy metal band is respected in the music industry and is helped metal get bigger in 2001 with the help of Adema, P.O.D, and System Of A Down. Drowning Pool has toured with Sevendust, Canadian Metal band Kittie, and Hed [PE].
