Fishing Report
|
October 6, 2001:
Ahh... the fish are coming back! The water temperature is now 68F
and dropping, but so is the water level. Caught a 1# this morning
on a white spinnerbait. Other people are catching fish around
that size and up to 3#.
September 29, 2001:
Fished from sunrise until 1 PM on the East Dunne Bridge side. Caught a
1.75# on a white spinnerbait early in the morning. My buddy caught two
on a crankbait(Lucky Norman). Then around noon we both missed a fish
on crankbaits. Fishing seems to be picking up. Some fish are deep,
but many fish I see are around 10 feet. The water level is now really low.
Maybe that's why there aren't many recreational boats in the shallow ends
anymore - which is a plus for us fishermen.
August 26, 2001:
Fished from 8:30AM-2:30PM on my float tube. Caught one dink after a few casts with a 4" purple worm at "The Wall". Then worked my way towards the "Tree Cemetery" using spinner and crank baits. No bites. The water level is really low right now and the tree cemetery has a lot of vegetation. Didn't get any hits there. Went back to the wall and threw the purple worm again and got hits. Finally landed a 1 pounder. There are tons of recreational boats out there and the winds were picking up, I left.

Fishing Notes

At "The Wall":
I like to use plastics here. Fish the plastic either weightless or with a splitshot and let it drop down slowly. Or Carolina rig it, let it drop to the bottom, then shake or slowly retrieve it.
At the "Tree Cemetery":
Ah... it's a nice place to fish when there's more water and very little vegetation growth around that area. I like to throw my favorite white spinnerbait to start off. If nothing I will then throw plastics and cranks.
Fish around the trees.
