Anyone can participate in making our Chamberlin-Schabowski Family
Video project a success.
The video is made by scanning photographs, saving them to the computer,
and running them like a slide show with different special effects and captioning.
They are then video taped with accompanying music. The resulting video
makes a great keepsake and gives everyone a chance to see those pictures
that only certain relatives have a copy of.
In order to make this project a success, we must ask you to send us
some photos to scan for the video. We are asking that each individual only
appear in about 5 pictures either alone or in groups.
We would like the photos to be of several different periods of a person’s
lifetime. For example, you might send pictures of yourself as a baby, in
childhood, high school graduation, wedding, and then one as you presently
appear. Family group pictures are nice as well. Also, do not just think
of your immediate family when sending in photos. We would like to locate
as many pictures of our ancestors as we can to include in our video. You
may be the only one who has many of these photos. Perhaps there is someone
in your family who is the "keeper" of many of these photos and they could
submit them for your whole family. Other ideas for submissions are family
homes, family autos, and anything else that holds a special memory for
those in your family.
I possess quite of few photos of many of you, but this is your chance to make sure that the ones you find most desirable will be included. To submit your photos, send them to Carol Sheedy, 1885 Arrowhead Trail, Huntington, Indiana 46750. Please include the names of the subjects, the place, and approximate date the pictures were taken. I will scan them, and then do one of two things. If you plan to attend the Family Weekend in July, 2000, I will return them to you in person. If you would need these pictures back immediately, please signify this and I will return them by mail. If you are not attending you may still participate in this project, and I will return the photos to you in the mail. A $5.00 discount will be given to the first three submitter of photos.
The photos must be received by March 31, 2000 in order to appear in our video. The videos will be released on July 7, 2000 at our Family Weekend; however, non-attendees may order them and they be mailed to you at the conclusion of our event. The cost of the video will be $12.00. There is a space on the Reunion Reservation Form to reserve copies, but there will probably be extras available for those who do not reserve them. Also, if you do not attend the event, you may purchase them by mail by sending $12.00 plus $3.00 shipping and handling to: Carol Sheedy, 1885 Arrowhead Trail, Huntington, IN 46750.
I really believe you will enjoy the end result, but it all depends on
everyone’s willingness to participate. We have a lot of time to work on
this project, and I will be reminding everyone of this project in future
newsletters.
