COFFEE !!!

This page is dedicated to two of the most devout coffee-holics I know;

The first is our darling Daughter, Nicole.
For a while she had a dream job...working in a
Barnie's Coffee Shop!! They even WANTED her to sample
ALL the coffees!! That's like boarding the cat with the canary.
Now she is my supplier of some decadent little numbers called
Santa's White Christmas and Creme Brulee.
It pays to have connections!

The second is my darling Darling, Randy.

He has been known to consume 2 POTS of coffee a day!!
He blames that vice on the years he spent in the Navy.

No matter what you call it, no matter how you drink it,
cook with it, eat it...coffee has taken the world hostage.
A few generations ago, it was verboten for children to partake
of the hot, bitter brew. Now, everywhere you look, someone,
from childhood on up, has a cup of coffee in his hand.
Whether it's hot and steaming, sweetened and lightened,
or iced, or flavored, or blended, coffee is the drink of choice.

I found it very interesting that the day after I wrote
the above statement about children drinking coffee, I read in
the newspaper that the hangout of choice now for teens and preteens
is the local Starbucks or some other coffee shop.
I guess I can blame my Aunt Helen with my coffee addiction.
When I was a couple of years old, she and my uncle bought a
demitasse cup and saucer just for me(I still have it by the way).
and would put a little coffee in it and fill it up with milk.
They would sit me on the table to have my "coffee"
while they had theirs.
I was always told that if children drank coffee it would "stunt
their growth". Well it must have mine...I'm 5'2" if I stand
very straight and stretch! If I hadn't drunk coffee as a child,
I might have been 6' tall!!

On this page, we shall explore the mysteries of this bewitching brew.
We will learn new ways to enjoy it in all its forms.
This will be an interactive page...hopefully with you sending
your recipes and ideas for fully appreciating this devilish delight.
