My Personal Opinions on Paul
When I was 8, I saw a clip of The Beatles being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They showed Paul, aged 46. I could not understand WHY half of my mother's generation was in love with this man! (I'm not sure which half my mother was in, she won't tell me). Then, when I was 16 I saw the picture of Paul above. Maybe it was just the hormonal imbalances of puberty, but my heart stopped. THIS was a god! Why weren't there any guys like this when I was in high school? Paul's definitely got my vote as the Hottie of the Beatles. Perhaps it was his indefinite appeal to girls as such a cuddly teddy bear that inspired him to write some of the most beautiful melodies of the century ("Yesterday", "Let It Be", "The Long and Winding Road"). His love songs, both during and after The Beatles, are just as compelling. Paul also served as a perfect balance to John's poignant social and personal statements. The Lennon/McCartney partnership is still one of the most respected and remembered of the twentieth century. Paul became the unofficial manager of The Beatles after Brian Epstein's death. It was this experience in managing such a popular talent that prepared him for his solo career as the world's most popular entertainer. Paul's haunting melodies will live on in the world forever. Paul McCartney, the Heart of The Beatles.
