Some descendent census records refer to Adam being from
Pennsylvania. We have yet to verify the birth in NY so PA
remains a possibility. Tombstone states he was born in 1821,
family history states 1818.
[230]
His marker in the New River Cemetery reads: Adam Minard-died
Aug 31, 1861 at the age of 39 yrs- 7 months. The information
on this stone is second-hand, so needs to be futher verified.
There are at least two problems with this informatiom as it is:
1) If Adam Minard died in 1861, John and Sarah (possibly Adam
Jr.) would have to have had a different father, although they
all went by the name Minard. Dates aren't accurate, so Adam
might have lived longer than the stone says. Maybe 1867?
2) If he was less than 40 years old in 1861, why is the 1860
census listing him as aged 42?
It is apparent that a great deal more work is needed to
solidify the lifeline of Adam Minard.
[233]
1860 census showed Adam as age 42. (in conflict with
gravemarket). This census states that they came to US in 1855
for fishing and lumbering destination of Grindstone City,
bringing with them four children: George(6), James(3), Mary
Jane(2) and William(1).

His tombstone in the New River Cemetery reads: Adam Minar-died
Aug 31, 1861 at the age of 39 yrs- 7 months.

Adam & Sarah married at the respective ages of 30 and 18. The
marriage date is alledgedly calculated based on tombstone
information. However, based on census info in 1880, this
places Sarah's age closer to 13 when she married.
