[394] Gravestone lists birthyear, in error, as 1861.
[1433] Age per census as listed is 36/1900 56/1920.

1850 census list as 18 year old farmer, born in Alabama, living
with parents.
[244]
If Adam Minard died in 1861, as the tombstone indicates, John
and Sarah (possibly Adam) might have had a different father,
although they all went by the name Minard. Dates aren't
accurate, so Adam might have lived longer than the stone says.
Maybe 1867?
[237]
In Census of June 1860, Sarah is listed with husband Adam, and
6 children, four of them born in Canada. Cannot locate the
family in 1870 census, anywhere in Michigan.
In Census of 17 June 1880, Sarah is listed as widow farmer, age
44, with 5 sons and 1 daughter, ages 12 to 27. Sarah is listed
as being born in Ireland, as well as her parentage being Irish.
Two older sons, James and Henry, ages 27 & 22 respectively,
assumed providing support for family (James working the farm).
Also note that Albert, Adam and John, aged 20, 18 and 15
respectively, were also listed as all working (Adam working at
"salt block"). Sarah was the only child listed in school.
Based on tombstone date for Adam Minard Sr., it is possible
that John and Sarah were actually grandchildren.
[240]
Listed age 44 in 1880 census. Of course this means that she
was about 12-13 when she married.

1880 Census of Huron Township, Huron County, Michigan: Dwelling
#122,
Family #122. MINARD, Sarah, WF, 44, widowed farmer, born
Ireland,
parents both born Ireland. Six children listed:
HENRY, WM, 22, son, single, farm laborer, born Michigan;
JAMES, WM, 27, son, single, works on farm, born Michigan
(conflicts with family history that states he was born in
Kincardine, Bruce Co., Ontario);
ALBERT, WM, 20, son, single, works out, born Michigan;
ADAM, WM, 18, son, single, works at salt blocks, born Michigan;
JOHN, WM, 15, son, single, works out, born Michigan;
SARAH, WF, 12, daughter, single, home attends school, born
Michigan.
[1381]
Adam & Sarah married at the respective ages of 30 and 18. The
marriage date is alledgedly calculated based on tombstone
information. However, based on census info in 1880, this
places Sarah's age closer to 13 when she married.
