George died at age 75 yrs, 10 mo., 29 days in Port Austin. He
died of cancer of the throat.

There is record of a George Minard in the Michigan Civil War
pensions. Since George would have been a teenager during
wartime, and since he waited till 1872 to get married, it is
quite possible that this is the same George. More research is
needed.

Marriage record #350, shows George, age 23, Canadian born,
Teamster; Eliza, age 16, Michigan born. Both were residents of
Huron City, witnesses were John Montgomery of Huron City and
Mary Jane Minard of New River. Marriage was performed 13 Oct
1872 by Robert Mathers (J.P.) and recorded 17 Dec 1872.

farm laborer born Michigan (error), parents both Canadian. He
