Why Bungang Arao?

Bungang-arao is the Filipino term for prickly heat-an itchy, uncomfortable skin inflammation. Though none of us has the said rash, we have a a different kind of itch. As future journalists, we feel the responsibilty to tell others our joys and 'annoys'. We are itching to inform, to educate and to form public opinion about issues on Philippine politics, culture and society. We need to scratch the itch. Through the articles we've written for this web site, we hope to be able to do just that.

What better way to start a conversation, ignite debate and fuel protest among Filipinos than by discussing politics? From explosive corruption exposes and lopsided foreign treaties to trivial sidebars on the height, weight and vital statistics of the President, Filipinos will always have something to say. Being the Pinoys that we are, here is a piece of our minds - the insightful articles of our journalism class.
