Élisabeth Vonarburg
Originally from France, Élisabeth Vonarburg moved to Quebec in 1973 and received her Canadian citizenship 3 years later.  Élisabeth has been pivotal in promoting SF in Canada. She was editor of Solaris for 11 years where she helped launch the careers of many of Quebec's best SF authors. She was also responsible for the first Quebecois SF convention in 1979. 

Élisabeth has received numerous honours and awards. Here is just a couple; Her novel In the Mothers' Land won a Prix Aurora Award, a Philip K. Dick Special Award and was a runner-up for the James Tiptree Award. Her novel The Reluctant Voyagers, was a finalist for the 1995 Philip K. Dick Award. Élisabeth's latest work is Dreams of the Sea which is the English translation of her award winning Les Rêves de la Mer.
