What in the world is happening here folks?
Sysops are arbitrarily BANNING user's IP's.
Not silencing them for a proscribed time,
Not banning an offending nickname, but COMPLETELY BANNING THEIR ACCESS TO THE ZONE
In a couple of cases, it took a lot of complaining,
but these users were finally given access to the zone again.
What did these villianous users do? Here
are two that has been relayed to me by pretty reliable sources.
User1 was guilty of the crime of coming in the forum to simply
play some games. Because of the similarity to another name, Userl,
Energy_Mix, a sysop, entered the room and without any communication
with User1, BANNED the user. No notification to change
their name, and no attempt at a much simpler, more fair, approach
of banning that particular name.
Another user came in with, lets face it, a rather suggestive name.
This user is known for their particular choice of suggestive names,
and naturally, someone found offense with it. Danyo_Evcha, another
sysop, came in, asked the user to log out and stop using the name.
The user was instantly booted, and then found that they too were BANNED
from any game rooms on the zone.
The obvious question is : Why a sysop (especially
a new one) should be able to do this without any recourse on the part
of the user? Well, guess what guys, it's Microsoft's Zone,
and they can do what they want...
