Queer as Folk 2
Queer as folk was a channel four drama series beased in Manchesters gay village on Canal Street. The story line revolves around three characters Nathen, Stuart and Vince, Nathen is a school boy who is coming out, and is desperatly in love with Stuart after loosing his virginity to him in a hot night of passion. The only problem being is that Stuart has never gone steady with a man before and isn't about to start! Vince is Stuarts life long best friend who always seems to pick up the broken pieces that Stuart leaves behind. The television programme was broadcast on channel four which is no suprise as this channel is always trying to broaden the views of their viewers. Queer as Folk was the first programme that was transmitted that had ever promoted homosexuality, the gay lifestyle and more to the point male anal sexual intercourse. Although this show shouldn't have been a big deal it was, channel four recieved numerous complaints against the programme, but many more people wrote in and praised channel four. The programme was so successful and broke down so many barriers that Queer as Folk 2 was aired early in 2000.
Queer as folk 2 was the concluding chapter in the hit series. Nathen had pbviously had acting lessons and was living back at home, his dad had moved out and he now had a very camp boyfriend. Vince got promoted to store manager, and Stuart told his parents that he was gay and that he had a child after being blackmailed from his nephew. Anyway Stuart and Vince decided to leave Manchester and go to the USA "bonnie and Clyde" style and Nathen became King of the World...... and I presume everybody lived hapily ever after........
