Advance Wars
Genre: Strategy
Review: It is in the future. The world is filled with war. The Blue Moon Army, led by the Evil traitor Olaf, is attempting to conquer the Orange Star relm. You are the CO, or Commanding Officer of the Orange Star Army, named Andy. First things first. To start, you have to go through a couple missions of training, where you learn the powers of your troops. Then, you have a couple of options. One is to go into campaign mode, where you can unlock more COs and levels that you can use in the other two modes. Another option is go into the War Room, where you can pick a Pre-Deployed army level or a level where you can make your own army. These normally take forever. Finally, you can play Vs. Mode, where you can play a friend either on multiple game boys, or the same one. This is great for 2 person sleepovers (I tried it myself). As the game progresses, you earn more and more power over your units, but you will be faced with another challenge. This is that two MORE armies will come in, called the Yellow Sun army, and the Green Earth army. These armies have their weaknesses, but Olaf is an ANT compared to them. He is the Diet Coke of Evil. This game is awesome. I recommend it.

Golden Sun
Genre: RPG
Review: In a village called Vale, there is a place called The Sol Sanctum, which holds 4 gems that, when activated, can bring back to the world Alchemy (gold making). One year, 4 evil doers steal the gems, and set of to unleash the power of Alchemy, and capture and old man, and one of the main character’s sisters. It is up to Isaac, Garret, Ivan, and Mia to stop them and save the world. At the beginning, it’s just Isaac and Garret, but soon enough, Ivan joins forces with you, and even later Mia joins you. This game has lots of really tough bosses, and this game takes a while to beat. I highly recommend getting a strategy guide with it. It ends off with a cliffhanger, which is continued in the sequel, The Lost Age. In order to stop these evil people, you have to stop them from lighting 4 lighthouses of great power (1 in each game). This game also has a really cool VS mode, where you can face your friends and see who is better. Other than that, there’s not much else to it, except its graphics rock. Get this game.

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga
Genre: RPG
Review: OH NO! Prinsess Peach's voice has been stolen, and replaced with "exploding" letters (yes they blow up). As the evil dude fleas, Mario and Luigi are called upon to get her voice back, stop the evil person from anything else he wants to do thats evil, and save the world. Suprisingly enough, Bowser teams up with them too, just because he wants to be the evilest person in the world, and he doesnt want to be beaten by some runt from outside Mushroom Kingdom. As each level progresses, you learn different tactics to use, and sometimes are givven a task (like get 100 coins and bring them to a fat dude, who wants to eat you, and after you pay him, he tries to eat you anyways, so he becomes a boss, etc). There are 3 files on this game, so you can play many times over, without having to delete your old file. This game also includes the original mario bros game, which is also the multi-player mode. Although the graphics look cheasy, its the gameplay that matters most. This game is terrific. Go and get it.

Mario Kart: Super Curcuit
Genre: Racing
Review: This game is ok, I guess. I mean, it’s the only Mario Kart game out for game boy advance. You can choose from the characters Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Wario, and there are 20 levels to choose from AND there is a VS Mode, AND you can actually save ghosts. In 1 player, you can play the Mario Grand Prix (well, that’s obvious), which consists of the usual Mushroom, Flower, Star, and Special Cups, but now there’s a new one. That is Lightning Cup, where it includes some levels where the surroundings aren’t that good (like bad weather, volcanoes, etc). If ou don’t feel like doing that, you can play a time trial, and try to beat your old records, and get better at just plain old racing. But if your in the mood for playing with your friends, it has VS mode, where you can play with anyone, regardless if they have the game or not (just every player has to be a different colored Yoshi). The weapons include the same weapons from the previous Mario Karts (like Red Shell, Green Shell, Blue Shell, Lighting Bolt, banana, and mine). If you like racing games, it’s actually a good game to own.

Megaman Battle Network 3 Blue
Genre: Adventure
Review: LAN is just an ordinary High School stufent. He participates in tournaments that consist of things called NetBattles, where robots battle on the internet, which you jack into. LAN, and his buddy Megaman, enter in a huge contest, but school sometimes interfeers (not homework, I mean robots invade his school). Its up to LAN and his friends to stop whoever is behind it. You can also NetBattle your friends (linkable up to I think 4 people. I have yet to try that yet. more later). A definate buy.

Sonic Advance
Genre: Adventure
Review: THIS GAME SUCKS! I mean, CANT THEY COME UP WITH A NEW AND UNIQUE PLOT? I mean COME ON! This is the same plot as all the other sonic games, which is that sonic goes through different zones, has to beat Dr. Eggman at the end of each one while he uses some contraption to try and kill you, and at the end you have to beat a big boss that is nearly impossible, and doesnt that just blow? The graphics are about as good as the game play; really bad. The multi-player isnt even that fun either. I mean, you just race a friend to the end of a level, and whoever is sonic wins every time. What makes this game REALLY bad is that it has a time trial mode (like you need that). Do NOT bother with this game.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival
Genre: Fighting
Review: This game is a reborn classic, putting the game on the new GBA is sheer genius. The console is able to bring it to life, with surprisingly great graphic effects. The combos you love are still there along with kick ass characters like Ken and Ryu. This is the first SF game to feature the Turbo setting for a way, hence the "turbo revival". The 1 player is still the same, battle everyone and become champion with no plot at all except winning. The shoulder buttons have a use in this game as the heavy kick and punch controls, it is smooth running and the frames flow gently. A great game for the new comer to street fighter or the hardcore fan of the series because of the enhanced graphics on the new system. Multiplayer is good too, the game does get tedious after you master it though.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Genre: Adventure
Review: Remake of the best selling game of ALL TIME. The levels are all the same as on the old 8-bit, but look significantly sharper on the GBA as compared to the NES. The game is the same as the original game, but the new e-cards give you more extra levels to play and explore. All in all if you love Mario then this is your fancy, a portable, sharp looking, mario game. Anyone who knows of Mario will love this game, comes to question why didn't they make this before. Very Sharp game play and graphics. Uses the GBA's potential.

Wario Land 4
Genre: Adventure Review: This game is one of the better Wario games for game boy. It has a great plot, and it uses the Game Boy Advances qualities tremendously for the time it was made in. The plot is that Wario has to gather all sorts of money that was found inside a pyramid, but this game follows the old kind of play, which is classic. For those who don’t know, you go through each zone (which is divided into levels), jumping on creatures (which differ from area to area) and getting lots of money, diamonds, etc. The graphics of this game are really good for the time it was made in (it was one of the first games made). The game play is pretty good, except for the fact that there is no multi-player mode to it. This game doesn’t take very long to beat either. Another downside is that you cant find it other than on e-bay. If you have a pay pal account, it’s a worthwhile buy.
