One day when I was looking at 5920
Island Racer I thought that I could do better. The idea caught on and
I have made several race cars intended to be of different colors. This
is the first that I am (almost) ready to present. At least it is the one
that is most complete. I am currently awaiting a major shipment of parts.
The result is that most of the race cars are multi-colored rather than
being in one distinct color. The Renault is the one that I have the most
parts in the right color.
It is not modeled after a specific vehicle, the name Renault was simply
chosen because the car is red. One common feature of the race cars are
the spare tire. That's because they are racing long distances on public
roads rather than on closed tracks. When the car was young most countries
had such races where the car could prove itself useful on rugged roads.
