Along with Anthony Edwards, another original cast member will be
leaving at the end of season eight. Eriq La Salle,
according to Zap2it.com will be leaving at the end of next
season when his contract expires. "It is extremely
difficult to lose a cast member that is so integral to our
show," said Wells. "Eriq La Salle has been one
of the central figures on "ER" from day one and we are
disappointed that he will be departing from the series after
this season. We look forward to working with him this year
and wish him the best in his future endeavors." After
season eight, Noah Wyle and returning actress Sherry Springfield
will be the only original cast members left!

At the time she left ER, Sherry Stringfield was reportedly
making $70,000 per episode. According to Wells, that
figure was "much higher" than her actual
salary. Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle are reportedly
earning about $400,000 per episode next season, and Wells says
that her salary will increase -- but, sources say, nmot to the
level of her fellow original cast members who never left. Still,
Wells says, "She won't be hurting."

NBC ran away with the final Thursday of the season, as the net
took an average 19.7 rating/27 share (13.5/21 last week) for the
night << CBS was a distant
second>>. The hour-long finale of
"Friends," featuring the wedding of Chandler and
Monica, pulled a towering 21.8/33 at 8 p.m., proving it still
has some strength (13.4/22 at 8 p.m. last week; "Weakest
Link" 11.3/18 at 8:30 p.m.). The hour-long season finale of
"Will & Grace" edged "CSI," taking a
15.1/22 for the hour ("Will & Grace" 10.4/15 at 9
p.m.; "Just Shoot Me" 9.5/14 at 9:30 p.m.). At 10
p.m., the season finale of overwhelmed its competition,
pulling an average 22.3/34 (18.3/28). Both the finales of
"ER" and "Friends" have larger ratings that
the metered market numbers for "Survivor's" finale two
weeks ago, when it scored a 21.4/31. <<

It seems that the verdict on Anthony Edward's "ER"
brain tumor is still out. NBC's Entertainment President Jeff
Zucker announced that "all of the cast" will be
returning next year for "all of the season."
Although NBC is committed to "ER" through the 2003-04
season, Edwards' contract expires at the end of next year, as do
Eriq La Salle's and Noah Wyle's In January, the Edwards said,
"I think that will be it. It's been eight years of my
family working around my schedule."

Well, who comes back next season?? Everyone! Sorry,
no surprises -- everyone returns at least for the season
premiere in the fall -- maybe even Elizabeth Mitchell who plays
Dr. Legaspi. Anthony Edwards will leave the show sometime
next season though.

For those of you who were not able to watch The View this
morning, ER Actress Laura Innes was one of the guests. She
chatted with the ladies about the show and Dr. Weaver's now
complex love life. When asked if she, like other ER
actors/actresses << George
Clooney, Julianna Marguiles, and Anthony Edwards >>,
was going to leave the show she said no, she's not leaving
anytime soon. <<
Personally, I'm glad. Laura's character on ER has grown
more likable for me through the seasons >>.

Noah One of People's Fifty

Noah Wyle was one of People's Fifty most beautiful people in
world. "There's a ripple effect when women see
him," reports castmate Maura Tierney. "Then it's like,
'Oohh, OOHH!' and you hear these squeals as they try to contain
themselves." In his seventh season as earnest Dr.
John Carter, Wyle is hearing less about being "boyishly
cute" and more about being flat-out "handsome."
Warbin, his wife of a year, knows why: "He's got this
great, strong jaw and beautiful lines on his face. He's starting
to look more 'mannish' now." Former ER actor, George
Clooney, was also among the top 50.
Kerry and Kim, Back Together??

Will ER's Kim and Kerry
be back together by the season finale?
It's looking very likely. I've heard from a source close to the
show that Kerry is definitely gay, and she is definitely in love
with Kim, so this wasn't a "phase," as some of you
suspected. Kerry runs into Kim--and Kim's new girlfriend--and it
makes her realize how much she truly cares for her.
Finale of Survivor Dominates

The two hour finale of "Survivor: The Australian
Outback" scored a major win for CBS, taking an overall
21.4/31 from 8-10 p.m. The show peaked from 9:30-10 p.m. with a
23.6/33. The number was a major success, but failed to meet two
previous milestones: The premiere of this series, which drew a
25.6/38 after the Superbowl, and the finale of the first
edition, which took a 30.8/45 (both numbers represent the
overnight metered market figures for comparison). The show also
had a huge showing among adults 18-49, taking a 15.7/39. At 10
p.m., the reunion show continued the magic, scoring a 16.7/25
for the hour, though it slipped almost 20 percent from the first
half-hour to the second. Overall, the show did lost to
"ER" in the household ratings. (last week,
"Survivor" 17.2/26 from 8-9 p.m.; "CSI: Crime
Scene Investigation" 14.8/21 at 9 p.m.; "48
Hours" 6.5/10 at 10 p.m.). NBC kicked off the night
at 8 p.m. with a new episode of "Friends," which still
managed a respectable 11.9/19 (12.6/20). A repeat of the show
followed, 11.0/16 ("The Weber Show" 8.6/13). The
ratings continued to slip at 9 p.m. for "Will &
Grace," 10.6/15 (11.8/17), followed by "Just Shoot
Me," which had the misfortune of actually going up against
the end of "Survivor," taking only an 8.9/12
(10.8/15). At 10 p.m., "ER" actually took the hour in
households, pulling a 17.0/25 (20.0/31), rising from a 23 share
to a 27 share for the hour (precentage of television homes
watching the program).
Season Seven Finale

This is, of the most part, old news << check below
>>. Anthony Edwards
gave up the fight to break his contract early and agreed to stay
on for at least half of next season. You can probably bet on
Mark's tumor resurfacing right around then. But as for this
season, it's his family that's in serious danger. In the finale,
a crazed man goes on a shooting spree and Mark realizes his
family is a target because he has a personal connection to the
gunman. Also: Because of [Elizabeth Mitchell's] new
show, there aren't any plans to have her come back next season.
But she is in at least one more episode this season, when Kerri
runs into Kim--and Kim's new girlfriend.
Marguiles Tired of Explosive Episodes

Although "ER"
continues to top Nielsen ratings, Julianna Margulies says she
felt the show was faltering, and that that contributed to her
decision to leave last May. "By last year, there were
13 series regulars. It just became a show about revolving doors.
Too many ins and outs. They didn't know what to do with all of
us,'' Margulies tells Rosie magazine." Also, bombs
don't go off in emergency rooms. It's where you go to get help
when you've been in an explosion. But every two minutes it was
exploding." The 33-year-old actress turned down $27
million to play head nurse Carol Hathaway for two more years.
Margulies will appear in " The Mists of Avalon,''
scheduled to air on TNT in July.
