The goddess of creation, Eurynome, rose out of chaos.  She separated the sea from the sky.  Dancing upon the waves she created wind and the serpent Ophidon.  She and Ophidon became lovers and Eurynome laid the World Egg.  Ophidon coiled around it and hatched it.  From this egg came the cosmos and everything in it.  Eurynome and Ophidon settled on Mount Olympus.  Ophidon proclaimed himself ruler and creater.  Furious, Eurynome banished him into the netherworld.  She then made the seven planets, each with a Titian and Titaness to rule it.
