Chinese legend has it that in the beginning of time only chaos existed.  The universe had the shape of an egg.  One day this egg broke and a giant called Pan-ku emerged.  With him came two basic elements; Yin and Yang.  Yang was the lighter of the two and so formed the sky.  Yang being the heavier and more impure formed the earth.

After 18,000 years had passed, the giant Pan Ku died.  His head created the sun and moon.  His blood made the rivers and sea.  From his breath came the winds and from his voice came the thunder.  Humans were created from the fleas that lived on him.
