Gilmore Girls
Another show like the West
wing where witty banter rules. Sometimes Laura Gilmore's (Lauren
Graham) reliance on humor can be a little too much, but who says television
characters have to be perfectly likable at every moment.
Alexis
Bledel has done a great job developing her character Rory and has
improved immensely over the year as an actor. She manages to be a responsible,
extremely intelligent teenager without being anything close to boring,
but also being both likable and believable.
And the relationships with
Lorelei's parentsm is
Though the town of Stars Hollow,
Connecticut seems a little strange, it's a nice contrast to the usually
cynical urbanity most shows come with. Instead of one annoying neighbor,
we get a town full eccentric people who can only get away with their particular
eccentricities because they live in a small town and everyone else has
to live with it.
Hopefully the WB won't cancel
it too soon as they did with the great Popular,
which admittedly suffered a distressing sophomore slump.
