He is Lord!

If you have honestly and openly studied the evidence which has been presented, you have probably realized that Jesus was who he said he was.

Here is a little more that you need to know . . .

Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so are there spiritual laws which govern your relationship with God.

LAW 1 God LOVES you, and has a wonderful PLAN for your life.

God's Love: (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God's Plan: (John 10:10 [Christ speaking]) I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (that it might be full and meaningful).

Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant life?

Because of . . .

LAW 2 Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God, thus he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man is Sinful: (Rom. 3:23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Man was created to have fellowship with God; but because of his stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way and fellowship with God was broken. . . .

This self-will is characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

Man is Separated: (Rom. 6:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God is holy and man is sinful. A great chasm separates the two. Men are continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through their own efforts: good life, ethics, philosophy, religion, etc.

The Third Law gives us the only answer to this dilemma . . .

LAW 3 Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision fro man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

He died in our place: (Rom. 5:8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

He rose from the dead: 1Cor. 15:3-6 . . .

Christ died for our sins . . .

He was buried . . .

He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures . . .

He appeared to Peter, . . . and then to the Twelve.

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred.

He is the only way: John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. '

God has bridged the chasm which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place.

It is not enough to know these three laws, nor even to give intellectual assent to them because of . . .

LAW 4 We must make the decision:

(1) Believe

(2) Repent (turn from your sins)

(3) Accept Saving-Faith: RECEIVE Jesus Christ as God, Savior and Lord

(4) Live out the Christian life

Then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

(1) Believe: This first step is mental belief. This is first because you cannot take any other step toward a goal unless you believe it exists. You cannot seek or deal with a Person you do not believe exists. You cannot pray to a God you think is dead.

(2) Repent: This means not merely feeling guilty or sorry for your sins, but choosing-with that most fundamental and deep down part of your soul, your will-to turn out of the road you are now traveling down, because you have been convinced that it is not the right road, the true road, the road designed for you by God, the road that leads to God.

Acts 3:19 Repent, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

In full sense, repentence means renouncing the lord of your present road-the "evil one":

John 14:30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, - the father of lies: John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. , and the "ruler of this world":

John 14:30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming.

He has no hold on me, -so that you can give yourself instead to Christ, your rightful Lord.

Repentence cannot be adequately understood only psychologically, as something within yourself; it is ontological, it is a real transaction between you and your lord, a change of fundamental allegiance.

It is like changing sides in a war, or like divorce and remarriage.

And it is traumatic (but well worth it!)

(3) Accept Saving-Faith: This step, which is the other side of repentence, is faith, in the biblical sense: not just mental belief (that was step one) but accepting and receiving Christ as God and Savior and Lord of your soul, your life, your destiny.

Eph. 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

The previous steps were:
(1)
believing the road map,
(2) turning off of your present road,

the third is:

(3) turning onto another road.

That other road is a Person, the one who said: John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

(4) Live out the Christian life:
This last step is traveling down His way, actually living the Christian life.

Step three is faith, step four is works: good works, works of love.

The two necessarity go together. In step three the tree of Christ's life is planted in you; in step four it bears fruit. For "Faith without works is dead" (Jas 1:26).

We all receive Christ by personal invitation:

(Rev. 3:20) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Also, those who are reluctant to receive Him do so because they do not want to give up their freedom. Those who do take the step of faith find out that real freedom comes from surrendering all to Him.

Are you ready to receive Him right now?

Pray the following:

Dear God,
I confess that I am a sinner and am sorry for all the wrongs that I have done.

I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins.

Please forgive me and I invite you, Jesus, to come into my heart and life as Lord and Savior.

I commit and trust my life to you.

Please give me the desire to be what you want me to be and the desire to do what you want me to do.

Thank you for dying for my sins, for your free forgiveness, for your gift of eternal life, and for hearing and answering my prayer.

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, and truly meant it, you are now saved from your sins and are experiencing true freedom in your life for the first time.

Welcome to the family! :-)

* The first thing you need to do is locate a local church and tell someone there of your decision.

* The 2nd thing is, which really helped me, is to buy the New Testament on audio tapes (as well as, of course, a good study bible) and listen to them in your spare time.

* Thirdly, please write me and let me know.

Thanks, and God bless you on your new journey.

Chuck
