| Nosechop—Weasel Captured by Bronto I was walking down a path returning from my latest mission. I was close to Salamandastron when an odd scent drifted up into my nose. I smelled three weasels behind me. I turned to see a vicious-looking female weasel walking up to me. She was carrying a pie. “Would you like to trade this delicious pie for that beautiful sword?” she asked in a surprisingly sweet voice. I could smell a type of poisonous powder on the pie’s surface. And there were several poison berries scattered around the rim. “No, thanks any way.” I replied. “Come on! One bite?!” she pleaded. “NO!” Angered, she whistled as she pulled out a hidden dagger. Behind me, two other weasels appeared. One carried a spear and the other carried a sling. The weasel with the spear hurled it at me. Any other badger would have been hit, not me! I leaned aside and the spear hit the female weasel, killing her immediately. I pulled out my sword and crossbow. I threw my sword at the weasel that carried the spear. He groaned as the blade put out his life. The last weasel turned to run, but I shot an arrow into his bottom as he turned. He fell. I ran up to him and punched him in the face. I took his sling and tried his paws together. I pulled out the arrow so that he could walk better. I had captured my first prisoner for Salamandastron’s Prisoner Cellars Four Rats Captured by Urthblade I was walking down along the western beach. I had been thinking of my past when a shout got my attention. Behind me was four rats and two Greatrats. I sat down and waited for them. I picked up a rock and hid it. "What do you want?" I asked. But I knew the answer. "Your death!" one Greatrat yelled. "Your sword!" the other shouted. As I stood up, they pulled out rusty cutlasses. Before they could move, I hurled the rock at one Greatrat. He died the moment that he and the rock made contact. I whipped out my sword and threw it into the second Greatrat. The last thing he heard was my shouting, "Here! Have my sword!" Having seen their leaders die, the remaining rats dropped their cutlasses. I marched them back to Salamandastron.. Ten stoats Captured by Urhtblade I was in a small forest just north of Salamandastron on patrol. My awesome sense of smell told me that there were stoats nearby. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a stoat pop up and fire an arrow at me. I took a step back and caught the shaft. I fit on my crossbow and aim at the same time. The stoat made one shout before the arrow hit him. Suddenly, at least ten stoats appeared from behind trees. Three stoats held twirling slings, while the other seven pulled out swords. I fitted three arrows on my crossbow and shot them. The three stoats with slings fell down with arrows in their legs. The other seven charged me. In one swing, I had chopped the blades from the vermin weapons. Realizing that they couldn’t defeat me, they turned to run. I let out a fierce bark and the stoats found themselves stiff with fright. “You guys are going to Salamandastron.” I said. I lead my ten new captives back home. 2 Searats Captured by Danno I set out on a wide sweep of the perimeter of Salamandastron. I heard sounds of a skirmish and went to investigate. I saw six Searats harassing a baby squirrel. Taking up my sling I knocked out one, loaded and took out another, once more I loaded, and fired. Two were left and they charged at me. Drawing my long sabre I soon disarmed them and tied them up with a vine. Marching them off, I grabbed the squirrel babe. "You'll grow as long patroller," I said. We got back to the mountain and the rats were marched to the dungeons. Tajon the Warrior vowed to teach the little one and help him grow strong and skillful. Furclaw the Fox Captured by Swiftback A seer came to our mountain, probably from an army trying to get information. Before I entered the mountain, I told Tammo about it. Since I was on patrol when I found him, I did a small checkup, just to make sure he wasn’t a warrior from another army or really a seer. “If you are really a seer, then what is your name?” I said, as I pulled out my short sword. “My name is, gulp, Swal the Mystic.” “Okay then. Can you read minds?” “Yes sir I can.” “Then what number am I thinking of?” “4.” “Very good. NOT!!!” I grabbed his arm and twisted it all the way around. He yelped in pain, but using his other hand, he pulled out his dagger that he had been hiding in his cloak. I swiftly let go and dodged to the side.(that’s why I’m called Swiftback) I jumped backward a few paces to arrow range. With the loaded bow, I called out, “Don’t move! You will go back to your base, and not enter the mountain. I know you are a spy. I knew that ever since I laid eyes on you. I’ll give you to the count of 10 to get out of range of my arrows. 1……..2………3…… by then he was already out of range. I started laughing. pit-pat pit-pat Pit-Pat Pit-Pat Pit-Pat “Wait!! Wait!!!! Swal! Wait up!” I turned around to see a fox running towards me, but not for me. When he was right next to me I tripped him, and looked at my back. I was completely covered in sand. That’s why he must not have seen me. “And what might your name be?” I said. “None of your (he then said a word I cannot repeat) business!” He threw sand into my eyes, but thanks to my squirrel reflexes, I dodged it and tackled him. I drew my sword and pointed it to his throat. “Number one: No one ever throws sand at me. Number two: I asked you a question. Now answer.” I disarmed him. “F-f-f-furclaw. Please, don’t slit my throat!” “If you were me, you’d have slit mine long before. But you’re not. All I’ll do is take you as How I captured a couple o' vermin types- By Swordbane I was scouting in the forest in the fringes of Mossflower Wood, when I saw a campfire. (It was night you see) I crept close, and saw several vermin seated around a campfire. (there were 5 to be exact) I could here snatches of conversation, and I learned that they were part of a horde, and had gotten lost. I carefully pulled out my climbing rope and made a lasso. Twirling it above my head, I lassoed the nearest vermin, hauled him in, and thwacked him on the head, knocking him out. The others sprang up in surprise, drew their weapons, and advanced towards me. I jumped foward and struck one on the head with one end of my staff, and hit another in the chest with the other end. They both dropped to the ground. The remaining two lashed out with their swords at my chest. I dropped to the groud, and kicked the footpaws out of underneath one, and tackled the other. Delivering sharp, swift, blows to his head, I soon rendered him unconcios. The last vermin got up, holding his footpaws. I walked over, and punched him between the eyes. He went out like a light. I unraveled the first vermin from my rope, and tied them all together. I then drug them back to Salamandastron for questioning.prisoner.” A Rat Captured by Janka When I was out looking for some water cress near one of the streams that run to the sea, I heard some coaster curses. So stopped and listened hard. The coaster was blundering towards me.Quietly I hid, melting into the trees.Soon I saw the evil rat.He was missing half an ear and a claw with all the usually scars.Quietly I thro the bolas , But I just missed him because a thorn stuck him and he bent over a little. The bolas tapped him and stunned him lightly. I jumped in with my long dagger drawn. The vile rat dazedly drew his and we fought a bit.He wasn't hard to overcome because he was slow. Finally after I clotted many small cuts, I tapped him on the head and he went out black. After tieing him up with rope, I set off the mountain. Greyfur the Stoat Captured by Swiftback I found a wandering stoat while I was patroling. He challenged me to a duel. I pulled out my short sword and let him attack first to see how well he could fight. He wasn't that good. I played easy with him for a while, just to torment him. When he got really angry, he jumped up and swung at me. I easily knocked his sword out of his hand and caught it. I tied a rope around his wrists and brought him back to Salamandastron. Blackjaw, a wolf Captured by Orlando the Axe I was on my travels. It had been an fairly uneventful journey, except for a fight with a few bandits, and I came to a harbour town. I went inside one of the taverns - "The Wanderer's Rest." Inside, there, I saw a wolf, tormenting an innocent barmaid. The poor young rabbit looked terrified. I ordered a cider and watched him. He continually insulted her as she went about her business, sometimes causing her to drop or spill the drinks she gave out. Then, a traveller, a lioness, came in, and we got talking. I completely forgot about the wolf. Then I heard a scream from outside and went to look. The wolf was beating the barmaid up. "Oy! Leave her alone!" I shouted, drawing my Axe. "Think you can stop me, stripedowg?" He asked. His attention was taken from his prey and she struggled away. He drew a knife and stabbed her in the throat. Blood flowed as he grabbed her purse and ran. I chased him onto the jetty and aboard his ship. He drew his cutlass and we fought. He was good and I was brealy blocking the lightning fast slashes. He slashed me on the arm and I stabbed him in the leg, but neither of us was willing to give up. "I’ll make you pay for murdering that rabbit!", I said. "Not if your dead!", he replied. I ducked a slash. "You’re a pirate too, I see. You’ll pay for that, as well.!" I dodged sideways and hit his head with the flat of my axe. He was knocked unconscious. I tied him up and took him prisoner. |
