he Robots of the UMR are
live thinking machines of war. The smallest just over 8 feet and the largest,
well over 100 feet. The smallest are the drones, mindless thinking unpiloted
humanoids, with specific missions. The others are juggernoughts - tanks
and support machines of the future.
The Worlds of UMR have justified the need for such huge war machines
in worlds where the ground is soft for 20 feet (marshes) or the wild life
large like dinosaurs. Either way the UMR has made each a refinement in
support machinery. The taller the machine usually the more fire power.
Why waste the size?
Next was the need for huge construction bots. They were designed
for lifting massive weights, mining asteriod, larger building projects.
The humanoid designs more easily allowed for unskilled labor to work,
and with the speciallized machines (Bengal Tiger) the machine were designed
just for their environment.
Finally, with tecnology allowing for such large construction,
what was the need for jet fighters, when you could make jet robot vehicles?
They have the speed in space, and the functionality of a humanoid. Such
was the call for the Talon Fighter. These machines are some of the toughest
of the UMR War Marchine
All Robots have the following features:
- Omni sensors: Complete compliment of a optics including, Infra
Red, Passive Nightvision, Thermal Imaging, Ultra Violet, Telescopic
Sight, and Normal Vision
- Radar: Long-range Radar Assits in tracking up to 90 targets
20 Mile range
- Combat Computer: Calculates, stores, and transmits data into
a 3d HUD display, linked tot he Sensors, Radar and the Targeting Computer
- Targeting Computer: Assits in tracking up to 100 targets and
adds a +2 to strike Ten Mile range
- Built in Loud Speaker: 125 db of pure sound
- Heath/Niven: Supplies food and nourishment for the pilot/crew,
enough to last for at least 7 days.
- Evironmental Systems: Complete environmental, suitable for
use in all hostile environments including space, 8 hour air suppy, plus
full air filters (radiation, water (underwater breathing upto 50 feet),
dust, mold, etc.) Temperater control, Radiation and heat shielding 1200
degrees, and UMR Tracking device.
