Paris 2000

Second time around

Septembre 2000. This year,Pierre and I travel alone to France. We finally arrive in Paris, after stopping in Toronto and London! Located at 49, rue de Bourgogne; 75007 PARIS, our hotel, the "Palais des Rois Bourbons", is right in the center of Paris. Big room, clean and comfy, reasonable price, it is within walking distance of the Musée Rodin and Hotel des Invalides. We can walk almost anywhere from there: the Champs Élysées, the Gare de Lyon (it's a good distance, but still we did it!), St-Germain...

Our room, at the Hotel des Rois Bourbons. I'd go back any day!

Whenever I'm in Paris, I expect to see gangsters and car chases down the Champs Elysées. Been watching too many movies, I think.

One morning we went to visit the Rodin museum, a 5 minute walk from our hotel. I was quite fascinated by this beautiful house, and find that I enjoy seeing sculptures more that paintings. I find them easier to understand.
The next morning we went to the Hotel des Invalides, the hospital Napoleon had built for his war veterans, that is now a war museum. Interesting, but after a couple of hours of seeing military costumes and equipment, I was ready for something else.

After two days, it was already time to head out to Nevers by train, to see our son.
