Original Poetry

Here's your serving of fresh amateur poetry. All of this is mine (© to WindChaser), and if you take it without permission I will legally kick your punk tushies. Please keep that in mind, along with the idea that imitation is not the finest form of flattery.
Thank you and proceed.

These following poems were all written for my Poetry class (which, I might add, I did most of the work for but still only got a D in and thus have to take over again... Blech!). I think I really managed to pull some good thoughts together for the class and I feel that these are some of my best poems to date.

5 Minutes of a Saturday Afternoon
It's about doing laundry in the dorm. No, really. It almost inspires me to do laundry more often...
Heat-Stroke
This was brought about by an online test (Emode, I think) that stated if I were a deadly sin, I'd be Lust. ;)
Hush
A near-freeze frame of a very touching moment that startled me into nearly falling out of bed. Heh.
Dance of the Unicorn
Based off of both myths of the unicorn, the story of Adam and Eve, and a gorgeous drawing I did in November that I *will* eventually scan and post. The poem and the picture click very well, so just reading this you'll get a good feel for the drawing.

This is a series of similarly patterned poems about men I care/d about, plus one for myself. Explainatory symbolism on the left and accompanying poem on the right. Names are there merely for the amusment of the people who recognize them.
One more note: these were written in a strange order. "Deamon-Lover" being the original in 1998, followed by "Sun-Childe", "Horned One", and "Innocent One". This explains some of the variations and changes within the verses better. "Lost Soul" was, of course, the very last one written in 2001.
East/Spring/Dawn/Deer/Carl Horned One
South/Summer/Midday/Birds/Jeremy Sun-Childe
West/Autumn/Dusk/Canids/Myself Innocent One
North/Winter/Night/Felines/Rich Daemon-Lover
Center/Full cycle/All times/Deities and Spirits/Ed Lost Soul

Here's a single, long poem that I have broken up into seven sections for convience. This involves reincarnation, and two people meant to be together...
The story of the Unicorn, as portrayed on the Tapestries. Song of the Ages 1
An Asian (Not entirely sure where from) story of a Bear-spirit Song of the Ages 2
The Crucifixion Song of the Ages 3
A spin-off of Marion Zimmer Bradley's excellent Mists of Avalon Song of the Ages 4
Dark Mage (Personal story unconnected to any world myths) Song of the Ages 5
"Ten-thousand"- an unaltered-in-any-way Chinese myth about the Wall Song of the Ages 6
This New Age Song of the Ages 7

Miscellaneous shorter, non-serial poems. They may not get fancy descriptions, but read them anyway, please.
An Ode to Weeds
A response to Robert Burns, who's famous line states, "My love is like a red, red rose..."
One of a Thousand
A depressed love poem written for someone who was my unrequited love when he left for bootcamp. Applicable to other times in my life as well.
March 28th, 1999
Just read it... I can't describe it.
3 AM All Over Again
This one is one of my absolute faves. Short, sweet, to the point, and captures the feeling perfectly.
