AMBER CAMPBELL

Amber joined Veterans Affairs, like so many of us, as a PR co-op student. Back in January we knew she was great, but couldn't have known how attached we would become! She's just what us mild gals need, a modest amount of wild island girl :-)

Unfortunately, Amber's time with us is over and she's now back at Mount Saint Vincent. We miss her a lot, but she's promised to come back for some wild and crazy visits to Charlottetown.

Amber & Pam While Denise was away one weekend, we picked ourselves up and went out anyway. A great time was had - and we event closed the Olde Dublin. This was a pre-outing snapshot.
Saying goodbye To properly say goodbye to Amber (and Jennifer and Jacinta - who has since had baby Clare), we all went for lunch at The Merchantman Pub. The meal was good and the company best.
Churchill Arms Mmmm, curry at Churchill Arms. We really have to thank Joey for this discovery. Despite atrocious service, the curry dip is delicious enough to go back. Amber's a trooper when it comes to food, although 9 times out of 10 she pays for it immediately afterwards. Deep-fried Mars bar sound like too much? Not for our girl!
Surprise Party Amber played a very important part of the Denise birthday surprise - keeping her occupied! Here she is with then birthday girl and "Hot Joey" (hey, Andrew McG? ;-)
Valentines for Vets Always right there to help out. Here's our girl hard at work making valentines for Veterans. Although I think she only came for the Rice Krispies squares...
Cheers Cheers!
Cheers Our last dinner with Amber :-(

FOOD FAIR BLUES

It was good....real good even. Actually it was scrumptious! HOWEVER, the food fair has come and gone, the feasting has ceased.......and all that is left is a very full belly that is gurgling with indigestion.

As I sit here and sip my green tea, I reflect on the choices I have made during my journey through the international dishes. "Yes" I said to the perogie, and "yes" I said to the beefy-meaty-covered in sauce- thing, and "of course" to the humus, and "why not?" to the sweet blueberry cake.  At the time I thought I had made the right choices, as one often does, but the time has come where I am beginning to question them.

I admit my appetite was large, and I went into the line with full force. Its true that the pain I am in, is of no fault but my own. So, to those who will experience the tempting "food fair" .......beware of the consequences! Eat a big breakfast, take your own lunch and eat before the fair begins, and maybe then....yes perhaps then you will survive the Food Fair blues.
