I spent the morning of my birthday kinda sad. My weekend in Toronto had come to an end and I was on my way back to the mild ways of Prince Edward Island. Much to my surprise, however, I came home to NEW BLINDS - woohoo! Does Denise know me or does she know me? Even more, a nicely designed menu and card were waiting on my door (see left). We had a wonderful candlelight dinner with Amber and Pam, including chocolate fondue ... mmmmTake a look at the menu. |
I wheeled into work that afternoon to quite a surprise - my entire cube was gift-wrapped! Pam spent the majority of her Sunday wrapping everything. We're talking mousepad, phone, hand creme, name plate - the works.
Quick facts on the desk-wrap Hours of labour: 7 Rolls of paper: 10 Days of sore muscles: 2 Feet of scotch tape: 36 Knee bruises: 3.5
Denise went to a lot of work (and expense) to pull this night off. Everything was perfect and the apartment especially looked great. There are still some remnants of the night around our kitchen.
Setting the mood with a little greenery never hurts.
So she gives me the coolest Harry Potter figuri.. ahem, "action figure", except there was a piece broken off. Not a problem, I have super glue! Problem: I'm soon stuck to the broken piece with said super glue... that stuff is crazy. Denise to the rescue.
In an attempt to steal my "wow, I can't operate glue" thunder, Pam immediately proceeds to glue her own fingers together. Again, Denise to the rescue (with the help of some nail polish remover). Yup, it's a gripping life on Prince Eddie's Island. |
