June 6, 1944: D-Day

On June 6, 2004, people all over the world paused to mark what was perhaps Canada's most significant military engagement. Arguably the greatest airborne invasion of all time, Allied Forces stormed the beaches of Normandy and turned the tale of the Second World War. VAC has a wealth of information on its Web site dedicated to this anniversary, it's worth a little look. Canada's Veterans laid down their lives, asking ask that we remember.
