Skyline: The lift travels up the Seattle Space Needle.

Plot: Frasier is hosting a meeting for his wine club - an important one. To make the apartment "perfect", Martin agrees to put his chair in his room for just one night. However as Niles helps Frasier carry it, he drops it, and it causes a scratch on the floor. Niles calls his handyman, Joe DeCarlo, who promises to have the work done by midday.

Joe is attracted to Daphne, and vice-versa, and Niles is worried. He tells Daphne that Joe is a womaniser and when Joe asks her out, Daphne refuses. Later Niles' conscience gets the better of him and persuades him to confess his lies to Daphne.

When Frasier returns home from work, he finds to his horror that Joe is still there - together with a team of electricians. It turns out that when he plugged in the sander, the fuse blew and the apartment's wiring went defective. Frasier panics again - the water is cut off, the gas pipes are damaged, and his guests will be here soon. Very soon. Luckily Martin has an idea to get the work done quicker, involving $700…..

Subtitles: Sip, Swish, Spit; The Clot Thickens.

It's Maris!!!: Joe has managed to satisfy Maris - something still on Niles' "to do" list. And to get Joe away from Daphne, Niles suggests he comes over to check out Maris' plan to take Niles' library to make room for her hats. We also learn why Niles had $700 in his wallet - he was picking up some pills for Maris!

Trivia: This is the first episode Anne Flett-Giordano has written on her own, without Chuck Ranberg. First appearance of Joe. Niles' nosebleeds he gets when he lies make a return. The old trick of not seeing who is at the front door, but rather seeing things through the eyes of whoever is at the door, makes a return as well - it was first used in Ep 5 "Here's Looking At You".
