Skyline: A shooting star passes over the skyline.Plot: Niles is worried - Maris has gone missing. Martin uses his police connections to find her and she is located in New York on a shopping spree. Niles is relieved that she is OK, but Frasier is concerned that she thought she could just leave without even a note. He urges Niles to stand up for himself. He does - and Maris kicks him out and says she will file for divorce. Niles is deep in denial and tries very quickly to adapt to bachelor life. He gets his own place and is ready to move in. Frasier notices how upset his brother is so tries to talk to Maris, but she throws a bucket of water on his head. When Niles goes back to collect his things, he realises that everything in the house has a memory for him. Does he really want to leave? Meanwhile Noel has written to the producers of Star Trek, begging them to create a new character based on Roz - Rozalinda, four breasted queen of the planet Rozniak. Roz is of course less than pleased, especially when some pranksters give her a four cupped bra….. Subtitles: Thank God Gucci Was Closed; What Light Breaks Through Yonder Window; Denial Ain't Just A River. It's Maris!!!: Maris went to New York when she relived her "Saints alive, I'm 35!!!" shopping spree. We also learn she waved a poker at a decorator who tried overcharging her, calling him a thief. Martin knows….. Mike, who helps Martin track down Maris. Where Everybody Knows Your Name: There is a mention of Lilith as Frasier tries to get Niles to stand up to Maris. He tells her him to say, "I will not let you treat me like this, Lilith!" before realising and correcting the name to Maris! Trivia: This is the only episode written by Ian Gurvitz. This episode marks the beginning of the Niles/Maris divorce storyline that lasts three years. When Niles leaves Maris, he tried to slam the door for effect. Unfortunately it was a "14th century Bavarian cathedral door" and two servants have to help him slam it. Plus Marta makes a reappearance. |
