Skyline: A shooting star passes over the skyline.
Plot: Daphne has found something shocking - Martin has an engagement ring in his room and Niles thinks maybe he's going to propose to Sherry. Niles realises he knows very little about this woman and decides to hire a private detective, despite Frasier's disapproval.
The detective finds out that Sherry has been married 6 times. Niles wonders if Martin knows, but what Martin does know is his son has hired a detective - someone was asking very strange questions to Sherry that afternoon. When Daphne reveals everything, Martin gets cross. He knew about Sherry's past, she told him a week after they met. He then angrily goes to McGinty's.
Daphne then realises he's left the ring behind. Not wanting Martin to look like a fool, Frasier grabs the ring and rushes after his father.....
