Skyline: A crane lifts a load over the skyline.Plot: Niles is babbling on excessively about random topics, which Frasier puts down to baby jitters. Meanwhile Frasier has decided to return part time to private practice and Niles is with him at a furniture store choosing a couch for his office. Whilst there, the brothers spot their old babysitter Ronee Lawrence, whom Frasier had had a crush on as a boy. They say their hellos and Frasier falls for her again, asking her to his apartment that evening to catch up. Ronee arrives and Frasier tries to work his magic on her, but he has a rival - Martin. Martin thought Frasier bought Ronee home for him. Ronee has to leave early to fill in for someone at work - she works at a club, singing and playing the piano - and promises Frasier a duet sometime. Frasier heads down to the club only to find Martin beat him to it, and finds out Ronee likes Martin better than him. Frasier becomes depressed. He realises him and Ronee were not a good match anyway but hoped that getting her again would help him get over when she unknowingly rejected him as a kid. He's also nervous about private practice again. He goes to the kitchen to get some cheese and accidentally finds some Viagra - prescribed to Martin Crane! Martin comes in and catches them with the pills, and confesses he's having trouble with Ronee because he keeps picturing her as a teenage babysitter. Frasier manages to solve everyone's problems, including Niles' babbling - he is worrying that Frasier will be better than him in private practice - and feels confident about his return to private practice. Subtitles: Here Comes Another Mood Swing; Hard Cheese. Trivia: Former writer Jeffrey Richman returns to the show with his first episode since Ep 136 "Dinner Party". Roz doesn't appear in this episode as Peri Gilpin was still busy with her play when this one was filmed. First appearance of Ronee Lawrence, the Cranes' old babysitter. Since then she has been divorced and makes a living singing at clubs after a few failed shots at the big time. There's a couple of mentions of Hester Crane as Martin feels guilty about dating Ronee as they used to have arguments about Ronee. Oh, and with Ronee, we finally discover the cause of Niles wiping his chairs with his hanky! |
