Skyline: The light at the top of the Space Needle flashes.Plot: The Cranes and Ronee are going out to dinner, but poor Frasier feels like a "fifth wheel" - as Niles is with Daphne and Martin with Ronee, he is the only single person in the group. Frasier says he is not bothered by this as he is looking for "Miss Right". However, when he is cat-sitting for a neighbour, he realises how much like "Aunt Shirley" he is! Roz phones with the number of one of her friends, Ann Hodges. Frasier phones her and they go out on a date, but Frasier finds Ann very boring and annoying. She works in insurance and continually talks about her job, and her ex-husband. Whilst at the restaurant, Frasier sees Kenny there with his cousin, Liz Wright, a very beautiful woman. Kenny is trying to persuade Liz to take a job in Seattle rather than flying out to Amsterdam the next night for a job there. Frasier realises if he wants to get together with Liz, he has to do it that night, so he tries to get rid of Ann. He finally does so and goes over to Liz but then Ann comes back..... Meanwhile, Niles and Daphne are convinced their maid, Mrs Gablyczyck, is stealing from them, so Martin helps them uncover the truth with the help of a surveillance tape. Subtitles: The Fifth Wheel; Squrmin' Like Herman; Czech, Lies, And Videotape. Trivia: When this episode aired in the UK, a technical problem at Channel 4 meant that there was no sound for the last 10 minutes of the episode! Ronee returns from the previous episode, and Ann Hodges makes her first appearance. Writer Lori Kirkland is now credited as Lori Kirkland Baker - presumably she got married over the summer of 2003! Roz is back from her temporary absence from the show, and there is a mention of Gertrude Moon as well. Oh, and the surveillance tapes in the Montana are from Martin's birthday party - his last on-screen birthday was Ep 143 "Momma Mia". |
