He probably officially changed last name from Volkmann to Folkman(n)
when he took his naturalization oath in 1912, but he appears to have
used Folkman earlier as well. He used Folkman in the 1900 Census. He
died of a heart attack the day after his son Albert's wedding. In the
1900 Census it is recorded that Albert was not able to read or write
English, but that he could speak it.

Louis of Angelica; Lourena Sievert of Sobieski; Irwin at home; Albert
at home; Norma Ostrenga of Suamico; brothers Fred and Henry of
